In my opinion, this book lived up to all of the
hype surrounding it. There were a few small indiscretions but other than
that, I really enjoyed reading this book!

No one, including the readers, really knows what happened to make her that way or why she is suddenly always covering her arms. Looking at her family's dynamic, we learn that Echo's mother and brother are no longer in her life; and her father has now become insanely infatuated with Ashley, Echo's new step-mom and former nanny. Though Echo's father is absent in the way of paternal love, he certainly isn't when it comes to preparing her for the future. She feels pressured to take as much business classes as possible, and to retake the SAT and ACT over and over again so that he'd finally accept and love her; though her true heart is in the arts and in painting.
In the same way, Noah Hutchins' life is no walk in the park. On the surface, he looks to be the cliche bad boy who doesn't care about anything other than when and where he's going to get laid next. As time progresses, we get to learn about the depth's of his past. A few years prior, both of his loving parent's died in a house fire, leaving Noah and his two younger brother, Jacob and Tyler, to the system. This ultimately separates them, but Noah fights to keep them together.
At first blush, Echo and Noah look to be two completely different people who couldn't possibly have anything in common with one another. They'll soon find out that they will understand each other way more than anything or anyone else ever will.

What I liked about this book:
Though
the whole "bad boy meets good girl" plot is commonly used, I still tend
to gravitate towards it because... I like it, I'll admit. In this book,
romance and drama are the two main genre's expressed. But I want to say
that the drama (Ex. Echo's traumatic past and Noah's heartbreaking
past) definitely overshadowed the romance, which I liked because it
swept me up in all the emotions!

maybe it just seemed that way to me because I zoomed through the book,
but still. I wished they were longer!
