Q: Do your reading habits change based on your mood? Do you read a certain genre if you are feeling depressed or happy?

No, they usually don't. Whenever I'm feeling down and out or sad, I do think I tend to get more picky with the books that I read at the time. Because I more than likely want to get my mind off of whatever is making me all moody, I'll probably take that extra second to scour through books to find the one that will be the best and most exciting so it can take me away from my issues... but I don't go to one particular genre.

  1. I agree with you, my mood doesn't really effect my genre preference. I usually get lost in the book I'm reading & my problems vanish...TA-DAAA magic trick ;)

  5. I definitely am more pickier when I am upset but usually a favorite will snap me out of it.

  8. For me I find my mood changes the genre that I want to read. I go through blocks where I only read one genre, then I randomly change to another one. But I don't find myself reading certain books because of the way I feel. Although I do find that the way I feel has an impact on how much I enjoy the book! So if I'm angry or sad I try and take a break from reading till I get over it :)
